MetLink was introduced in 1995 as an outgrowth of an administrative system corporate clients used before the Web became prevalent. Last year, MetLife reported more than 20,000 customers using MetLink to help manage their company's employee benefits programs.
MetDental was later introduced for dental service providers. As of August 2005, more than 50,000 dental practices were registered on the portal. The company claims the portal helps reduce billing errors and paper claims, speeding up the payment process through electronic fund transfer.
