AS EACH GENERATION of college student is subsequently exposed to more of the latest and greatest technology, the way college graduates search for post-graduation jobs is changing. Whereas job fairs, the college's career center and newspapers were vital to previous college grads, the Internet is becoming the medium of choice for today's grads.
CollegeGrad.com conducted a survey to find out what sources grads consider best for entry level job information. Perhaps due to its online model, it's not surprising that the survey revealed 59 percent of respondents said the Internet was their best source.
"There has been a fundamental shift in how college students conduct their job search," said Brian Krueger, president of CollegeGrad.com. "As recently as 10 years ago, the Internet was only a minimal factor in the entry level job search. Now it is the dominant way that college students search for entry level jobs."
Job fairs were listed by 19 percent of respondents, 13 percent said a career center and 9 percent said classmates. For more information, visit www.collegegrad.com.
