The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation is holding its Week of Giving through Oct. 20, as an effort to spark and sustain philanthropic activities by employees and employers in the insurance industry.
The personal giving campaign, which is new for 2012, invites every insurance professional to donate via text message. During October, individuals can donate $5 by texting INSURANCE to 50555. Donations also can be made online at www.IICF.org.
Donations from the personal giving campaign will be benefit four nonprofit organizations chosen by the IICF regional division boards: Feeding America, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Since its inception in 1994, IICF has contributed more than $18 million in grants to charities and 155,000 volunteer hours to hundreds of community nonprofit organizations.
