Still making it here inNYC!  Not going to lie, it's really weird here, but asGramma Ruby Fern would say, "This, too, shall pass."  Notsure if you got to check out my latest article, "Innovation is Born from Necessity" in the June issue of BenefitsPro, but I'm pretty proud of it. Itfeatures many of the women who have been included in this series asthey share on how they are helping their clients and staff duringthese "interesting" times.  I encourage you to give it aread and have your pen and paper ready, because you will certainlyget some great ideas and want to take some notes!

This month, I'm going to introduce you to two women who aretaking self-improvement and rediscovery to entirely newlevels.  With spring is in full force and serving as areminder of renewal, it's great to hear what these women have done! Please join me in welcoming Heather and Meg to theteam.

Heather Torres, CEBS, EHL Insurance

"2019 was a year ofself-improvement and reaching goals. My crowning achievement wasearning the coveted Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)designation. It took years of self-motivation and hard work to do.It was one of those goals that you set then tell yourself you have100 other more important things to do. But it was important to meand so I persevered and completed it. Passing that last exam was soexciting that I was in tears before I even got to the car. That onelittle thing reminded me that I can do whatever I set my mindto!

|

The one constant about me is change. I am all about owning mystuff and working to improve myself, the experience, the process, the team, the whatever. If it can be better, then I will work tomake it better. My team will agree with that statement!"

Meg McKeen, CIC, Adjunct Advisors, LLC

"Three years ago, I quit what I vowed would be my last job inthe insurance industry. My work, my heart and beliefs weretotally misaligned. I'd landed in place where I was physicallyshowing up at work, but I had very much checked out.

|

What followed was a year of self-discovery, growth andperspective – and a curiosity about the change that I'd longbelieved was needed in the way insurance was sold. I wondered, could you both earn a living selling insurance products and alsoshow up wholly, as your authentic self for your clients? Was "making deals" the only way to be successful – or could youalso make connections? What would that work feel like?

|

In 2018, I founded Adjunct Advisors, and every day since, I havebeen inspired by the women I support, who are building theirconfidence – and their networks."

Know a woman in our industry who is making an impact? If so, I'd love to know them, too!  You can just shoot meover an email with their information or feel free to make a virtualintroduction at [email protected] .  Stay safe (andsane), my friends.
