Scholaroo, a company that helps college students find the best scholarships possible, conducted a study to reveal the best states for young professionals. The study was broken down into six categories, including job market and work conditions, affordability, crime and safety, workplace diversity, health, and leisure.

While Massachusetts came in as #1 overall, it was ranked #39 for affordability. Maryland was ranked #4, but came in as #45 for crime and safety.

The worst state overall was West Virginia, but Mississippi came in a very close second. Both states came in as #48 and #50, respectively, for job market and work conditions while being ranked in the high 40s for the other categories.
