The National Association of Manufacturers, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and National Federation of Independent Business are working to make the anti-regulatory fervor their members share an issue in the last weeks of the campaign.
House Republicans on Thursday grilled the head of the Internal Revenue Service on the agency's decision to apply the health care law's tax credits in states that decide not to carry out a key provision of the statute.
A bill to fire federal workers who are tax deadbeats passed the House on Tuesday in an attempt to confront a problem that showed little improvement in the past decade.
The Republican-led House has passed legislation that would freeze major government regulations until the unemployment rate, now at 8.2 percent, drops to 6 percent or below.
Congress would gain major new power over government regulations under legislation set for approval by the Republican-run House.
