WHEN IT COMES to health savings accounts, consumers are always in need of information that allows them to evaluate HSA offerings. Banks, insurance companies and other entities are trying to educate the health care public about the myriad issues involved in choosing a solid plan.
Change Sciences Group, New York, looked at 14 HSA-related Web sites hosted by insurance carriers and national, regional and HSA-only banks and evaluated the consumer online experience, based on its modeling methodology, which looks at four key aspects: first impressions, explanation of how the plans work, support for determining if an HSA is a good choice and the online HSA application process.
Salt Lake City-based Exante Bank garnered the highest overall score. Change Sciences noted a couple of reasons for Exante's high score. One is the site's clear information about HSA basics; the other is the ease of use of the online application.
