Interactive Health Solutions recently announced it has honored 82 firms nationwide as the "healthiest companies in America" for 2008. IHS, a turnkey population health management program provider, chose the winners from over 1,200 organizations in the IHS program based on clinical evaluations of employee participants. The winning companies showed measurable progress in reducing medical costs and encouraged employee health through prevention-based health care, IHS said in a statement.
According to the company, population health management differs from wellness programs in that they seek to address health concerns before employees are symptomatic and begin incurring costs.
