MassMutual reaches out to multicultural residents

Multicultural populations in the United States can take advantage of MassMutual's recently updated eligibility requirements and foreign travel guidelines.

"Our revised guidelines now enable us to offer coverage to individuals who came to the U.S. on certain temporary visas and decide to stay permanently," Chris Mendoza, director of multicultural markets for the company's U.S. Insurance Group, said in a press release. "These new residents, their spouses and children often come from cultures that have strong family orientations and as a result, seek out life insurance to protect their loved ones. Now, MassMutual can help meet this growing need."

The new underwriting policies allow a maximum face value of $7.5 million for eligible temporary visa holders. Under the new travel guidelines, potential policyholders who spend up to 12 weeks traveling in a total of 42 countries worldwide are now eligible for coverage.

The company also offers applications that have been translated by a qualified translator.
