Employees blowing off health plan research

A survey by CIGNA recently reminded us just how little time employees actually spend reviewing their health insurance when enrollment season rolls around. Almost 80 percent of workers say they give it a lot or some consideration, but almost half (46 percent) of those who say they're responsible for the review spend less than 30 minutes on the task. More people say they understand their mortgage agreement better than their health plan.

To put things in perspective, the average person spends four hours researching a computer purchase and five hours researching a vacation.
