"With Blue Cross/Blue Shield, my clients are able to go online and make changes to their policies," she says. "They can add employees or dependents, make changes to the policy and more. Assurant Health, rolled out new features to their individual and small group HSA product offering last year. In 2004, the company unveiled HSA Tools, which provided owners with the ability to "manage account transactions with an integrated, secure Web site, as well as debit card and checkbook." HSA Tools also provides health information, quality data and selfdiagnostic tools via the Internet. Now, Assurant Health HSA owners will be able to invest in mutual funds, establish recurring automatic deposits from their checking or savings account into their HSA, and access detailed information on prescription drugs. www.assuranthealth.com
BLUE CROSS
Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies provide health savings account- compatible health insurance products in 39 states and expect to have HSA-compatible policies nationwide by the end of the year, according to the company's Web site. In the small group and large group markets, Blues carriers offer HSA-compatible products in 34 states. By 2006, Blues companies expect to offer HSA-compatible products in 42 states' individual markets, in small group markets in 48 states and Washington and in all but one state's large group markets. www.bluecross.com

According to Insurance consultant Jeff Strub at Jenkins & Associates, it's all about name recognition. AFLAC can pin a lot of its success on ad campaigns that somewhere grew into a cultural icon. "To be honest, I prefer AFLAC because of their marketing practices," Strub says. "Their name recognition is high, and everyone talks about how well known they are with voluntary benefits. Their service is good, claims payment is simple, and they're always running new programs and incentives. They just seem to be ahead of all their competitors."
