As the cost of Medigap plans continues to rise, Medicare beneficiaries are looking for ways to save on premiums without compromising access to doctors. Plan G is a great option for this.

Consider presenting this plan to your clients with these tips:

|
  • After the Part B deductible, Plan G offers exactly the same coverage as a Plan F.
  • With some carriers in some regions, Plan G can be $30/month cheaper than Plan F. Your client saves $360/year, pays back out $140 in deductible, and then pockets the $220 difference in savings.
  • Often, Plan G takes slightly lower rate increases than Plan F. This is good for retaining your clients for the long term.
  • You might protect your clients from future legislation that will be targeting first dollar coverage. While taxes may apply to various supplements, including Plan G, if premium tax laws are approved, Plan G does not technically provide first dollar coverage, and so it has at least a small chance at escaping some of the medigap premium tax targets.
