The ERISA Industry Committee, which represents large employers, has come out strongly against Senate Bill 188, while a family health center in Louisville supports the bill, saying it focuses on preserving patient pharmacy choice.
The Department of Health & Human Services has opened an investigation into UnitedHealth Group, following the "unprecedented magnitude" of the cyberattack at its Change Healthcare unit that disrupted health care nationwide.
Biden administration officials urged UnitedHealth Group to take more steps to stabilize the health system following a the company's cyberattack that is threatening the ability of providers to fund their businesses and provide care.
Despite the legal battles with the federal government to block the CMS drug price negotiation program, the makers of all 10 drugs selected for the first round of negotiations submitted counteroffers by the March 2 deadline.
A federal judge didn't mince words when he denied the company's motion for summary judgment in the class-action lawsuit, filed on behalf of the firm's current and former employees, alleging its CFO violated his fiduciary duties.
Cost Plus Drug Co., which sells drugs at a discounted rate, has reached an agreement with Community Health Systems, based in Franklin, Tenn., to purchase certain hard-to-source pharmaceuticals, such as epinephrine.
Amazon Pharmacy, which will fill Zepbound prescriptions ordered through LillyDirect, will also offer 24/7 access to clinical pharmacists for patients who have questions about the medications they receive.
The class action lawsuits allege Change Healthcare, one of the nation's largest health care technology firms, didn't have reasonable cybersecurity measures in place, when it was struck by a cyberattack on Feb. 21.
