IRA/Keogh plan values fall

• The estimated median plan balance for families with a defined contribution plan in June 2009 was $26,578, down over 16 percent from 2007.
• The estimated median plan balance for families with IRAs or Keogh plans fell to $28,955 in June 2009 from $34,000 in 2007.
• The estimated median value of an IRA/Keogh plan for a self-employed person in 2009 is $51,908, compared with $21,056 for someone else.
