Health care costs' effects on well-being

• About 40 percent of Americans plan to spend less over the holidays as a result of rising health care costs.
• Approximately 30 percent of Americans say health care costs have instigated arguments and tension with friends and family members.
• Almost 25 percent of Americans say they might withhold information from an insurance provider if it would otherwise limit their access to health care; still, nearly 80 percent said they haven't "bent the truth" on insurance forms.
