Fifty-three percent of small-business decision makers say having business insurance policies with an insurance carrier they consider tech savvy is important, according to the Small Business Opinion Poll commissioned by EMPLOYERS.
Still, the national poll also indicates 31 percent of small-business decision makers don't believe any insurance companies are tech savvy.
While the latest EMPLOYERS Small Business Poll finds small businesses prefer to work with tech-savvy insurance carriers, 81 percent says they want to continue purchasing their business insurance through their current insurance agent. For the most part, business decision-makers want online policy management and payment tools, instead of the consultative services they would receive from their insurance agent.
According to the EMPLOYERS Small Business Poll:

Just as small business decision-makers desire online services and tools from their carriers to make managing insurance policies easier, they also leverage online technologies to gain an edge for their businesses. The EMPLOYERS Small Business Poll also finds 52 percent of small businesses operate at least one social media account, and 37 percent describe themselves as active social media users.
