Some of the most lucrative jobs are in the medical field, but salaries do vary by state, according to the career website Zippia. The particular jobs that are being paid more vary widely depending on a number of factors, including the current year's events, recent technological developments and economic factors like recessions, says Zippia's Chris Kolmar, who compiled a list of the jobs in each state that had the highest annual salaries based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
