CenterWell, the health care services division of Humana, on Friday announced the acquisition of MaxHealth from Arsenal Capital Partners.

MaxHealth, based in Tampa, currently owns a network of 54 primary care clinics, four specialty/ancillary clinics and 24 downstream affiliate clinics throughout western and southern Florida. These clinics provide care to more than 120,000 patients, including more than 80,000 patients in value-based care programs. MaxHealth now will be affiliated with and owned by CenterWell Senior Primary Care,

MaxHealth was founded in 2015 by three provider organizations -- Best Value Healthcare, founded by Dr. Rajankumar Naik, Kimberly Ficocelli and Dillon Moore; MAXhealth,. founded by Tom Blankenship, Neil Bedi and Inita Bedi; and Primary Care Associates, founded by Dr. Paul Pulcini and Gladymar Vrkic. These three organizations came together along with an additional 13 independent providers under the common ownership of Arsenal Capital Partners.

MaxHealth could have been valued at about $1 billion, sources told Bloomberg before the Humana deal was announced, Jim Rechln, president and CEO of Humana, previously said the company is looking to expand its primary care footprint. Last year, Humana acquired The Villages Health, a Florida health system serving The Villages retirement community. CenterWell Senior Primary Care grew by 25 percent in 2025 to serve more than 100,600 more patients.
