The well-being of employees is growing increasingly important to employers, and that's playing out in the steps they're taking beyond retirement plans. So says Alight Solutions' Hot Topics in Retirement and Financial Wellbeing report, which finds that employers are not just working toward improving the finances of their workers, but also their health and mental well-being. A more holistic approach to employee benefits encompasses much more than a retirement plan and/or health benefits, as workers stressed over money woes are less productive—and affect their bosses' bottom lines. Broadening their approach to employee well-being is actually in employers' self-interest, since less stressed, more productive workers could mean that the business runs more smoothly and becomes more profitable.
