Educational Community Credit Union, Jacksonville, Fla., has named Loraine Irons "Employee of the Quarter". This is the second time Irons has been recognized for her positive attitude bringing about positive results. Irons is currently teller supervisor at ECCU's downtown Jacksonville branch. ECCU has $500 million in assets and serves 70,285 members. Publix Employees Federal Credit Union, Lakeland, Fla., has named Sharon Johnson "2000 Employee of the Year". Johnson has demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to PEFCU and members for 17 years. PEFCU has $346 million in assets and serves 94,550 members. CUNA Credit Union, Madison, Wis., has been recognized by the United Way of Dane County for its outstanding employee participation in a recent fund drive. The credit union was awarded the 2000 Bronze Award for organizations with significant per employee giving. CUNA CU employees on average donated between $40-$49 each. CUNA CU serves 42,000 members and has $195 million in assets. Keesler Federal Credit Union, Biloxi, Miss., Vice President of Marketing Sharon Seanor has been named the "2000 Marketer of the Year" by MarketTrust, Inc. MarketTrust, a provider of checking package solutions, has recognized Seanor for her "Ultimate Checking Account" marketing campaign. During an initial four-month period, members opened over 5,800 checking accounts. KFCU has $590 million in assets and serves over 147,000 members. Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union, Bremerton, Wash., has been awarded the Louise Herring award for Philosophy in Action for the year 2000. The award is in recognition of the commitment to the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People". CUNA has honored KCFCU for its dedication to education as one of its core values. In addition to providing tuition grants to five Greater Kitsap Peninsula students, employees facilitated a mock credit union at South Kitsap's Hidden Creek Elementary School; conducted numerous financial management classes at local military bases; hosted a variety of educational workshops for seniors and participated in the Junior Achievement program. Capital Communications Federal Credit Union, Albany, N.Y., is committed to recognizing and rewarding teen members who make a difference in their communities. The "Making a Difference Award" was developed by Marketing Associate Elaine Koplik, to recognize CCFCU teens for the difference they make in today's world. The first place $1,000 award went to Amanda Morris; second place $500 award, Sara Nicole Morales; third place, $300 award, Christopher Ennis and Alyssa Lotmore. CCFCU serves over 40,000 members and has $251 million in assets. MAX Federal Credit Union, Montgomery, Ala., has sponsored the Jubilee CityFest Artfest. Jubilee CityFest, named by the American Business Association as one of North America's Top 100 Events in 1999, is the annual family festival held in historic downtown Montgomery. The festival encompasses 16 city blocks with ArtFest in the heart of the festival site. Jubilee's ArtFest, which consists of various forms of handmade art such as photography, paintings, sculptor, and jewelry, had sales averaging $20,000 to $25,000 last year. There was a strong representation of the Southeast with artists from Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas. Prize money has been awarded to first, second, and third places, and there were also four honorable mentions. Last year over 200,000 people participated in CityFest. This year, MAX FCU unveiled its 2001 limited edition poster, "As They Heard the Music" to kick off the event.
