DALLAS – Participating in the Financial Institution Data Match program, credit unions along with other financial institutions in the state have helped the Texas Attorney General Office collect more than $1 million in back child support. The FIDM program is a national system of financial institutions operating in more than one state that help child support enforcement agencies track the assets of non-custodial parents who fail to pay their child support. FIDM was implemented here in the past year and financial institutions are now required by law to participate in the program.
