In the discussion about ways to hold down the cost of health care, many factors are cited as possibilities to turn the tide. It seems the same factors being discussed by policymakers and health care experts are of concern to consumers, too.

A poll conducted by LifeCare Inc. shows what concerns employees when it comes to their health. The number one concern, by a wide margin, is weight management. Forty-nine percent of respondents listed that as the top anxiety. The rest of the list is as follows:
o General health – 18 percent
o Heart health – 11 percent
o Diabetes – 4 percent
o Blood pressure – 3 percent

The category "other" was cited by 15 percent of respondents, with several concerns ranking about 1 percent. Those included healthy aging, cancer, mental health and smoking cessation.
