Employers who are feeling the pinch of the declining real estate market can follow ADP's example. The data processing company offers several relocation benefits to entice employees and recruits to move. The company offers appraisals before the employee decides whether or not to make the move; if a house sits on the market for more than four months, the company offers to buy the house at 3 percent below the appraisal price.
A recently-initiated program gives employees the option to rent their home while the company helps find a tenant. If rent doesn't equal the total amount of the employee's principal, interest, taxes and insurance, ADP will subsidize the full difference for the first year, and partially for the following two years.
