- Asked to grade their financial literacy, 34 percent of survey respondents gave themselves a C or lower.
- One-third of adults do not put any of their income toward retirement savings, up 5 percent from the 2008 survey, and 30 percent say they have no savings at all.
- Faced with an emergency 25 percent say they would use their credit card and 29 percent would take out a loan.
- 28 percent of respondents do not pay bills on time, and 40 percent carry credit card debt over each month.
