- Nearly two-thirds of workers with disability benefits said they felt better about their employer after receiving coverage.
- Employees with disability coverage are twice as likely to stay with their employer after a disability.
- 64 percent of workers without coverage had difficulty returning to work, compared with 52 percent of those with coverage.
- Just 17 percent of respondents said they were completely recovered financially after one year, compared with 40 percent of respondents with "adequate" disability coverage.
- Three-quarters of survey respondents said disability had a major or devastating effect on their emotional well-being.
- 80 percent said disability had a major or devastating effect on their financial security.
- Over 70 percent of workers said cost was the main reason they didn't have disability coverage.
