I suppose it's only fitting that on the eve of my 40th birthday I get an e-mail touting the latest retirement survey.

This latest research – a rare bipartisan effort conducted by Lake Research Partners and Public Opinion Strategies – uncovers a truth that both snoozes and startles at the same time. It seems voters are not only stressed out about retirement but worried enough to go to the polls over it.

Nearly 75 percent voters are worried about retirement, which shouldn't surprise any of us, and nearly two-thirds of them think Congress should do something about it – shocking given the anti-government coursing through the airwaves.
