Fifty-three percent of small-business decision makers say havingbusiness insurance policies with an insurance carrier they considertech savvy is important, according to the Small Business OpinionPoll commissioned by EMPLOYERS.

Still, the national poll also indicates 31 percent ofsmall-business decision makers don't believe any insurancecompanies are tech savvy.

While the latest EMPLOYERS Small Business Poll finds smallbusinesses prefer to work with tech-savvy insurance carriers, 81percent says they want to continue purchasing their businessinsurance through their current insurance agent. For the most part,business decision-makers want online policy management and paymenttools, instead of the consultative services they would receive fromtheir insurance agent.

According to the EMPLOYERS Small Business Poll:

Just as small business decision-makers desire online servicesand tools from their carriers to make managing insurance policieseasier, they also leverage online technologies to gain an edge fortheir businesses. The EMPLOYERS Small Business Poll also finds 52percent of small businesses operate at least one socialmedia account, and 37 percent describe themselves as activesocial media users.
