1. I have been told MANY times that I’m too young and the wrong gender for this industry – never assume that it’s a bad thing for business.

2. If you see a great deal of “Got Hope” stickers on the cars walking into an enrollment meeting, you’re in for a LONG day.

3. When it comes to health care reform, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

4. The employer’s definition of “rich benefits” and the employee’s definition can be extremely different.

5. Final decisions may change when the real boss – his wife - hears about the decision.

6. Underwriters are like the IRS: what the underwriter wants, the underwriter gets.

7. If you want to be left alone at any social event, just mention you work in insurance.

8. During enrollment meetings – the ability for employees to ask “alternative surgery” questions in front of all their co-workers never ceases to amaze me.

9. Trying to keep a straight face when explaining the group’s “POS” plan.

10. My main goal is help companies grow their business and take good care of their employees. Health care is a top three expense, and if I am unable manage and place the group’s health insurance correctly, I not only hurt the group’s benefits; I hurt the company’s ability to grow, succeed and thrive.
