The Managed Care Executive Group, consisting of U.S. seniorhealth plan executives, polled its membership for the top 10 issuesimpacting this year’s plans. The issues were

1) administrative mandates

|

2) care management, data analytics and informatics

|

3) health insurance exchanges and individual markets

|

4) new provider payment and delivery systems

|

5) “bend the cost” trends

|

6) Medicare and Medicaid

|

7) Health information exchanges and EMRs

|

8) Consumers’ roles in healthcare modernization

|

9) Reform uncertainties

|

10) Payer/provider interoperability

|

According to MCEG outgoing chairperson Alan Abramson, thisyear’s list is different from that in 2010. At that time, the listfocused on the role of government in health care.
