AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co. announced Michael Healy has been elected to the position of executive vice president by the Board of Directors.
In November 2010, Healy, senior vice president at the time, was named chief information officer for the company. He is responsible for directing the company's systems strategy and delivery, including infrastructure, application development and corporate architecture. Healy reports to Richard Silver, senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
"This appointment reflects the confidence we have in Mike's leadership and his ability to deliver excellence in technology that helps the company achieve its business objectives," said Mark Pearson, chairman and CEO of AXA Equitable. "How well a company like ours leverages technology is central to success."

Prior to joining AXA Equitable in 2006, Healy served as a senior vice president at Marsh & McLennan and in managerial roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
