COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A panel working on competitiveness issues for South Carolina's proposed state-run health care exchange is planning to meet.

The panel meeting Monday is part of the South Carolina Health Planning Committee that Gov. Nikki Haley established earlier this year.

It will make policy recommendations about whether it is feasible for the state to create its own health exchange under federal health care law.

If the panel recommends against creating a state-run exchange, it will then suggest alternate strategies in a report due on Oct. 28.
