Mark Loughridge and Scott C. Malpass were elected to the board of directors of The Vanguard Group and to the board of trustees of each of Vanguard's mutual funds.

Loughridge is senior vice president and chief financial officer at IBM. Malpass is vice president and chief investment officer at the University of Notre Dame, responsible for investment of the University's endowment, working capital, pension and life income assets of $7.2 billion, as of December 2011.      

Vanguard, headquartered in Valley Forge, Penn., is an investment management company and provider of company-sponsored retirement plan services. Vanguard manages nearly $1.8 trillion in US mutual fund assets.
