Although the average 2012 information technology budgets grew to 10.2 percent from 8.5 percent in 2011, 57 percent of IT leaders are concerned about losing top talent, which is up by 14 percent, according to two recent surveys by staffing firm PROTECH.
The surveys also show that 42 percent of respondents say they plan to increase IT staff this year, an uptick of 13 percent from 2011, and the number of respondents offering professional development and technical training increased to 88 percent in 2012 from 63 percent in 2011.
"With IT employment at an all-time high, it's becoming an increasingly competitive landscape for employers to secure and retain top IT talent," says Deborah Vazquez, CEO of PROTECH.
