When it comes to getting a job and keeping a job, health care workers are pretty confident.

According to the Randstad Healthcare Employee Confidence Index, most (80 percent) say it's unlikely they'll lose their job and 58 percent say they're confident they could find a job. A third also say they're likely to look for a new job in the next 12 months.

The confidence level for health care workers is at 58.4 for the first quarter of 2012, a number indicating positive confidence levels (a number above 50), particularly when it comes to optimism in workers' ability to find new jobs and in the future of their current employers.

"In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment among health care occupations is expected to increase by 29 percent—resulting in a projected 3.5 million new jobs by 2020. Based on the increasing need for health care services, we believe the sense of personal confidence seen in our latest employment report will only increase as highly-skilled talent continues to drive their own careers within this high-growth trajectory field."

Additionally, the survey found 66 percent of health care workers feel confident in the financial health of their company.

The survey is based on responses from 252 health care employees, including physicians, administrators and other health care professionals.
