NEW YORK (AP) — Low-wage workers plan to march next week in Manhattan to ask for higher salaries, better working conditions and a raise of the state's minimum wage.

Latino elected officials said on Tuesday that airport workers, car washers, supermarket workers and janitors will participate.

The march next Tuesday is part of a National Day of Action. Events also are planned in Miami, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston.
