CHICAGO (AP) — Electronic health records company Allscripts Health Solutions Inc. on Monday said Richard Poulton will soon be its new chief financial officer.

Allscripts said Poulton, 47, will join the company on Oct. 29. Poulton most recently worked as the treasurer and CFO of defense contractor AAR Corp. He previously held executive positions at UAL Corp., the parent of United Airlines.

On April 26, Allscripts reported disappointing first-quarter results and cut its annual guidance. It announced that Chairman Phil Pead had been fired and three other board members were resigning, and Chief Financial Officer Bill Davis was also leaving the company. David Morgan, the company's senior vice president for finance, has been interim CFO since then.

In a regulatory filing, Allscripts said Poulton will receive a salary of $450,000, and his targeted bonus matches that amount. His sign-on package includes a one-time cash payment of $750,000 scheduled for June, along with some stock-based grants.

Shares of Allscripts picked up 9 cents to $13.83 in morning trading.
