In Pennsylvania, the number of unemployed workers dropped by 16,000 in November, marking the highest decline since 1983 and the second largest decrease on record, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
Unemployment in November hit 7.8 percent in November, a decline of 0.3 of a percentage point from October's rate of 8.1 percent. Since June, this figure is the lowest rate.
Based on the November jobs report, the total job count is now 5,751,400, and this number includes private- and public-sector jobs, reaching the highest level since November 2008. The job growth is attributed to a growth of 7,200 private-sector jobs in November. Public-sector jobs, however, fell by 5,300.
