Small business owners now have a strong ally in selecting health insurance for themselves and their employees.

The National Federation of Independent Businesses announced it will begin offering members seamless access to health plans tailored to the needs of the small employer. Through a partnership with Unitedhealth, NFIB members can choose among a range of options, including copay plans (similar to employer-sponsored coverage); lower-cost, high-deductible plans; and health savings account plans.

Dental, vision, critical illness and disability insurance also will be available for NFIB members. The plans are underwritten by UnitedHealthcare's Golden Rule Insurance Co. United Healthcare's provider network includes 5,900 hospitals and 780,000 physicians and health care professionals nationwide.
