The Obama administration had "unnamed sources" tell the Associated Press over the weekend that consumers submitted a total of 476,000 applications for coverage through the state and federal public exchanges.
The sources didn't reveal how many of the applications came through the state exchanges, how through the HealthCare.gov website (if any), and how many through other channels, such as the federal call centers.
The Obama administration hasn't released any federal exchange plan enrollment data.
