Business seems to be firming up at the state-based public exchanges.

Managers of several have reported strong year-end enrollment activity, and at least one – Nevada's Silver State Health Insurance Exchange – is starting to report a significant number of paid-up private "qualified health plan" enrollees.

In Nevada, the Nevada Health Link exchange had 10,776 paid QHP enrollees Jan. 5, up from 778 Nov. 30.
