Economist Richard Thaler, the Ralph and Dorothy Keller Distinguished Service Professor of Behavioral Science and Economics at the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business, will be the keynote speaker at the 2014 Retirement Industry Conference in Chicago on April 9-11, LIMRA announced Wednesday.

"LIMRA Secure Retirement Institute research reveals that people believe that they should be saving 22 percent of their income, but fewer than ten percent actually do," said Alison Salka, corporate vice president and LIMRA SRI Research director.

 "Dr. Thaler's work – particularly his work on automatic deferral rate escalation – identified a solution to help people act on their intention to save more. We are pleased to be able to offer our members the opportunity to hear about his latest research."
