The Trump administration is still hoping to let health insurers sell coverage across state lines.
Vice President Mike Pence talked about the push for interstate health insurance sales Thursday during an appearance at Fabick Cat, a Caterpillar equipment distributor in Fenton, Missouri.
Pence touched on administration efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act during the appearance.

Pence said that both he and the president understand the pressures small businesses face, and that the Trump administration will use the principles of individual responsibility and consumer choice when replacing the ACA system.
"We're going to repeal Obamacare once and for all," Pence said, according to a written version of his remarks posted on the White House website. "Get rid of its mandates to taxes and its intrusion on your lives and on your businesses. And, best of all, at the same time we repeal Obamacare, Obamacare is going to be replaced with something that actually works."
The administration is working with Congress to allow interstate health insurance sales, and to "make sure that Americans with pre-existing conditions have health insurance and don't have any fear of losing that health insurance," Pence said.
The administration also wants to give states and governors the flexibility they need to care for the least fortunate and meet their states' health care needs, Pence said.
"Despite the scare tactics from the liberal left, the president and I are committed — make it clear here — we're committed to an orderly transition to a better health care system in America," Pence said.
