"My biggest objective when I go into a meeting with someone I don't already know is that when I walk out, they don't know if I'm a Republican or a Democrat," she said. And over the course of an hour, she laid bare what benefits brokers and advisors can realistically expect in the coming election season and how they can prepare for the policy shifts.

"In your businesses, you have to plan what you're going to do and you have to be ready for whatever occurs," Trautwein told attendees. "People have opinions about things, but you better look at the math, too. When you look at electoral college projections, they're based on polling and probability."
