Different generations have different ideas about work, but when it comes to pets, there’s a lot of common ground. Surveys find that 88% of younger employees turn to their furry companions to help relieve work stress, and 83% of older workers agree.

Relieving stress is one benefit of offering pet-friendly policies at work, and benefits brokers can help by adding pet insurance to the voluntary benefits packages they design for their clients.

In this podcast series, David Hurley, director of sales for voluntary benefits and member/specialty groups at Nationwide, sits down to discuss the benefits of offering pet insurance as a voluntary benefit with BenefitsPRO contributor Michael Krieger. During their talk, the two discuss:

- Recent research and studies that show how much younger and older workers are now relying on their pets
- The challenges that employees have when it comes to caring for pets and how pet insurance as a voluntary benefit can help
- How benefits brokers can show the value of pet insurance to employers with a multigenerational workforce

This podcast is the first episode in a series called “Strategic Benefits for a Pet-Loving Workforce,” which is hosted on BenefitsPRO and sponsored by Nationwide.
