With April 15 less than a week away, some employees may feel their physical and mental health slipping, leading to absenteeism and higher health care costs. According to a 2006 study by the American Psychological Association, money is the main cause of stress for adults.
"Financial related calls account for approximately 5 percent of EAP cases," says Oliver Williams, administrative director of Bensinger, DuPont & Associates, a national employee assistance program firm. "Via one-on-one counseling with financial professionals, these employees gain the knowledge, guidance and tools to become more proactive with their money management, boosting their financial — not to mention physical and mental — health."
