More hiring is expected during the third quarter for commercial and light industrial jobs, according to a recent hiring trends survey by Express Employment Professionals, a privately held staffing company.
In fact, 37 percent of respondents intend to make new hires for commercial and light industrial jobs, which is up 5 percent from the second quarter.
"We have clients who are experiencing increased production, and the survey results are indicative of what we are seeing in the marketplace," says Robert Funk, CEO and chairman of the board for Express. "Employers are adding to their work force."

Another 18 percent of respondents anticipate hiring administrative and office clerical staff while 8 percent of respondents plan to hire for engineering positions, and 7 percent of respondents expect to hire for accounting and finance. Five percent of respondents plan to hire for marketing and information technology positions.
"Hiring and retaining top talent is critical to every business' success," Funk says. "Despite the high number of job seekers looking for work today and the increasing number of employers hiring, many employers are reporting that they can't find the right person for the job."
With today's economy, 51 percent of respondents say they have difficulty recruiting for and filling positions, and when considering new hires, respondents say a prospect's job experience, attitude and work ethic are the most important characteristics. Respondents say top recruiting resources are employee referrals, staffing firms and online job boards.
