ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) — Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has visited two Detroit-area hospitals to push his message for expanding Medicaid eligibility to hundreds of thousands of low-income adults under the federal health care law.
Snyder met Monday with workers at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and Trinity Health in Livonia.
He's asking the Republican-controlled state Senate to pass a Medicaid expansion plan quickly. The Senate adjourned June 20 without voting on the legislation.

Monday's visits are part of a series of meetings Snyder is conducting across the state as he advocates for the health care bill. He plans to have a town hall discussion via Google on Monday night.
Snyder says expanding Medicaid eligibility will save lives and money because patients will have health insurance instead of visiting the emergency room.
