PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training has held a recruitment event for dozens of open jobs at a customer service center of the state-run health benefits exchange.

The Florida-based company selected to operate HealthSource RI's Providence call center is hiring between 50 and 75 people initially and will eventually employ up to 100.

DLT says the full-time positions have a starting salary of $12.70 an hour and that bilingual agents will be able to make more.

The Providence Journal reports about 100 people attended the recruitment event at the netWORKri career center in Providence on Wednesday.
