If you're managing an international workforce and are looking to move someone halfway around the globe, offer the position first to your Canadian and French employees. And don't even both to ask someone from Germany or The Netherlands.

This intelligence comes from a passive online survey conducted by Monster.com, the job resource website. When folks visited the site recently, they were given the chance to respond to an online question that asked how far they would move for their dream job. Some 5,400 responses rolled in, and here's what Monster.com concluded:

  • Overall, 78 percent of respondents would relocate for a dream job;
  • Overall, 55 percent would move to another country;
  • Overall, 32 percent would move to the other side of the globe.

When sliced by nationality, here are the highlights:

  • 50 percent of the French would move to the other side of the world, more than twice the 23 percent who said they would move to another country;
  • 45 percent of Canadian respondents said they would move to the other side of the world;
  • 48 percent of American respondents would leave the U.S. to pursue their dream job, and 31 percent of which would move across the world for it;
  • Germans were the most resistant to relocating at all, with 58 percent saying they wouldn't leave home for any job;
  • Dutch respondents were the second most stubborn about staying at home, with 42 percent answering that they are completely unwilling to move.
