It’s perfectly logical to discard a resume that reveals occasionalgaps, frequent job changes and slow careeradvancement. However, doing so may deprive a business of a highlycompetent and motivated employee.

While the military serves the nation at home and abroad, manymilitary spouses are eager to work to supplement their income, filltheir time and find fulfillment.

“Military spouses are flexible and adaptable,” says KatieSavant, government relations issues strategist for the NationalMilitary Family Association in Alexandria, Virginia. “They are ableto balance multiple priorities at the same time. Their diverseexperiences and backgrounds mean they can provide innovative ideasto employers and have experience with what worked well in onesetting and why it may or may not work in the newenvironment.”
